Light on the Mountaintop Seminar Series presents “Germ cells are different! Cell type-specific plasticity in cytokinesis and metabolic regulators” by Julie Canman, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), New York, NY.

The Canman lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms that underlie cell type-specific plasticity in cell division and other cellular functions.  We combine genetics with light microscopy and have recently focused on cell type-specific regulation of germ precursor cells during early embryogenesis in the model nematode system C. elegans.
